With 2007 winding down, taking a moment to reflect on some wonderful times on the road. Not sure when I’ll have the chance to get back to Paris, but sure have some great memories.
September 2007 – all shots near the Invalides and the Pont Alexandre III.
Summer vacation was spent in California. An enjoyable part of the trip was the Wine Country, Napa specifically, where we visited Beringer: “the oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley. It was also the first winery to offer tours to guests back in 1934”.
We also visited Domaine Chandon, “the first California sparkling wine venture by a French Champagne house.” We drank some of their bubbly there, it was excellent.
Takes from the Chandon tour below. Cheers, Salute, L’chaim, Na zdrowie, Chin chin, À la votre.

What of the hunting, hunter bold?
Brother, the watch was long and cold.
What of the quarry ye went to kill?
Brother, he crops in the jungle still.
Where is the power that made your pride?
Brother, it ebbs from my flank and side.
Where is the haste that ye hurry by?
Brother, I go to my lair to die!
